The program allows students to well-constructed the two degrees in a shorter period of time than would be necessary if the degrees were pursued separately. Undergraduate students in the College of Information Sciences and Technology may wield for ticket to either the ISTBS/ISTMS IUG program or the SRABS/ISTMS IUG program without earning 60 credits (typically in the spring semester of the junior year). The IUG program is administered and delivered by the College of IST at University Park. The stratum is geared toward students who are interested in doing research and completing a Master’s degree. Why should I consider an IUG? IUG programs offer undergraduate students the benefits of graduate education. These programs aim to: introduce undergraduate students to the rigors of graduate study and graduate sense make the resources of the Graduate School misogynist to IUG students indulge students with IUG status to goody from their undertone with graduate students whose level of work and whose intensity of interest and transferral parallel their own permit coherent planning of studies through the graduate degree, with recommending informed by not only the requirements of the baccalaureate program, but moreover the longer-range goals of the graduate degree. How does the IUG work? The first two to three years of undergraduate coursework follow the same undergraduate curriculum that other students follow in the Information Sciences and Technology (IST) or Security and Risk Analysis (SRA) major. The final years of study include graduate requirements: 6 credits of required graduate courses, 6 credits of research methods courses, 12 credits of graduate specialty courses, and 6 credits toward research. Students may double-count a maximum of 12 specified credits toward their graduate and undergraduate degrees, thus making faster progress toward each degree. (Note: At least 50% of the courses that are double-counted must be at the graduate level.) Student performance will be monitored on an on-going understructure by the student’s tipster and the Graduate Programs Office. Students admitted to the integrated program must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of a 3.3 and a minimum 3.0 GPA in all courses used toward the M.S. stratum in order to maintain good wonk standing and meet graduation requirements. Undergraduate students in the College of Information Sciences and Technology may wield for ticket to the ISTBS/ISTMS IUG program or the SRABS/ISTMS IUG program no older than February 15th of their sophomore year and no later than February 15th of their junior year, if they meet the pursuit ticket requirements: Must be enrolled in the ISTBS or SRABS undergraduate stratum program. Must have completed 60 credits of an ISTBS or SRABS undergraduate stratum program. Must wield to and be wonted without reservation into the Graduate School and M.S. program in IST. Students must well-constructed the Graduate School application. Must have an overall GPA of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) in undergraduate coursework and a minimum GPA of 3.5 in all coursework completed for the major. Must present an tried plan of study. (Recommended: Fall of junior year) Prepare a proposed semester-by-semester plan for the IUG program, and submit it for clearance from your wonk adviser, the Director of Graduate Programs, and the Director of Graduate and UndergraduateWonkAffairs. (Recommended: Fall of junior year) Once the proposed semester-by-semester plan is approved, wield to the IUG program through the Graduate School’s application. (Recommended: January of junior year; Graduate Recruiting Committee reviews applications in February.) When are decisions made? The Graduate Recruiting Committee reviews applications in February. Decisions are made in March. Successful student applicants are admitted in summer of the year for which they apply.
